Why the top exit keeps your floors clean
In a normal front-entry box, your cat steps straight out at floor level and carries litter with them. Starry Valley closes that path. The only way out is upward, through the wide opening in the lid, and the lid itself is a ridged grid panel with 5 mm apertures. As your cat climbs over it, the panel combs litter off their paws and the grains drop straight back into the tray. PAKEWAY calls it a single-entry isolation door: front in, top out.

Will it really stop litter on my floors?
It significantly reduces it. The grid lid removes most of the litter from your cat's paws on the way out. No litter box eliminates tracking entirely, so a mat under the box still helps.
