NEOVEMOX Plus Tape Long Acting Horse Wormer & Boticide Gel is a palatable oral gel for horses. It is supplied in a ready-to-use 11.8g syringe calibrated in 25kg bodyweight intervals.
Active Constituents
Moxidectin 20mg/mL and praziquantel 125mg/mL.
Labelled Uses
For the treatment and control of tapeworm and susceptible gastrointestinal roundworms in horses, including adult and encysted stages of small strongyles, benzimidazole-resistant strains of small strongyles, pinworms, ascarids, hairworms, intestinal threadworms and large-mouthed stomach worms. The approved label also covers stomach bots and cutaneous onchocerciasis.
The egg reappearance period is at least 14 weeks, helping reduce pasture recontamination by strongyle eggs.
Directions for Use
- Administer orally at the label dose rate of 0.4mg/kg moxidectin and 2.5mg/kg praziquantel, using the ready-to-use syringe calibration.
- Accurately determine the horse's bodyweight with a scale or weigh tape before setting the dose.
- One 11.8g syringe treats a horse weighing up to 575kg. For horses over 575kg, use more than one syringe and follow the approved label for the correct dose setting.
- When used as directed, the label states it is safe in foals over 4 weeks of age and in breeding stock, including stallions and pregnant mares.
Important Safety Information
- Use with caution in foals and smaller breeds. Calibrate the dose carefully and avoid overdosing.
- Keep away from dogs. Excessive consumption of spilled material may cause toxicity.
- Meat withholding period for horses: do not use less than 28 days before slaughter for human consumption.
- Read the label and safety directions before use. Consult your veterinarian for parasite-control program advice.
- PINWORMS: Oxyuris equi (adults and L3/L4 larval stages).
- ASCARIDS: Parascaris equorum (adults and intestinal stages (L4))
- HAIRWORMS: Trichostrongylus axei (adults).
- INTESTINAL THREADWORMS: Strongyloides westeri.
- LARGE MOUTHED STOMACH WORMS: Habronema spp. (gastric and cutaneous (summer sore) forms).
- STOMACH BOTS: Gasterophilus intestinalis (2 & 3 stage larvae), Gasterophilus nasalis (2 & 3 stage larvae).
- CUTANEOUS ONCHOCERCIASIS: Onchocerca spp. (microfilariae)

- NEOVEMOX PLUS TAPE LONG ACTING HORSE WORMER BOTICIDE GEL is administered orally (into the mouth) at a dose rate of 0.4 mg/kg moxidectin and 2.5 mg/kg praziquantel.
- It is supplied in a ready to use syringe, calibrated according to the body weight of the horse to be treated, in intervals of 25 kg body weight. Use of this calibration will deliver the recommended dose.
- Accurately determine the weight of the horse to be treated (if a scale is not available, use a weigh tape) and be sure to adjust the syringe to the correct dose for the horse.
